Lydiksen Elementary Weekly Review (3/12/25)

Hello everyone! We recently started our lessons at Lydiksen Elementary School! This week we learned about acids and bases through a fun activity. First we learned about what acids and bases are a real life examples. Then we discussed pH indicators which tell us if something is an acid or bases. For our experiment, we used red cabbage juice as a pH indicator to determine if different liquids are acids or bases. The color of the liquids changed when mixed with red cabbage juice, and we saw which ingredients were stronger than others. Acids turned red, bases turned yellow, and neutrals turned blue. Everyone enjoyed watching the colors change and this was a fun activity!
