I volunteered at Sunrise today. This week, 8 students showed up and I taught them the fundamentals of the Java language: print statements. Many kids had no prior experience, except for one kid, so they all set up their repl accounts. After they set up their accounts, we practiced writing print statements and explored the different types of print statements. Some students felt overwhelmed by the complexity of Java’s structure, but they were eventually able to understand the basics of the language and discern System.out.print() and System.out.println().
