Our first session at Sunrise Middle

STEM for Others Starts New Program at Sunrise Middle

Hello! Today marks the first day of our partnership with Sunrise Middle! At Sunrise, we taught computer science, specifically python, to 5 students. We mostly did introductions, explained what coding is, and what are coding languages. At the end, we worked on understanding one of the most basic commands, printing a phrase, and the different ways one can print a phrase on a single line, on multiple lines, and learning to add two strings together to create a single cohesive phrase. For now we will be meeting every Monday from 4-5pm, but hopefully we can expand to also include Friday. The mentors will alternate between Ryan Kim, Marc Pashin, and Alex Mihailovici.
