Oak Weekly Review (3/14/25)

Hey Cougars! Today, we wrapped up our Stem Expo preparation! In the previous weeks, we’ve dived deeper into what leads to innovation. Through the lens of the famous scientist, Eratosthenes, we were able to explore the scientific method of evolving mere observations and questions into applicable experiments to come to a conclusion. With this, students were implored to research their own interests for Stem Expo! Through previous Ted Talks, we gained insight on what are the key fundamentals to a successful presentation. Our cougars were then able to apply and practice in mini groups their presentation skills with topics of their interest!Next week, we will be transitioning into our next new theme “Climate!” To give students a brief background, we encourage all to think about what they know about our environment!For Homework:

1. Read this National Geographic article: Weather or Climate ... What's the Difference?
2. Write a short report about what you learned:
   • What is the main idea of the article?
   • What is weather? What is climate? How are they different?
   • How do climate and weather affect us in our lives?
