Hello! We went to Family Supportive Housing in San Jose on 11/09. We continued with the Chemistry workshops about the structure of the slime. Also, because the kids at this facility are very young we started the workshop with Arithmetics. This was done to explain the kids the quantities of substances they need to put into the cup to make the perfect slime. Each step of the process I asked the students to tell me the amount of "stuff" they put into the cup in terms of the math of the cup or the container in which the substances was. For example, 1/3 cups of glue, 2/3 pallets of glitter, the color purple consists of 3/7 drops of blue coloring and 4/7 drops of red coloring. Everyone was doing an amazing job describing their slimes with math and the kids had a lot of fun!
